Stuart Reid, Executive Director
Stuart has worked at five retail food co-ops in a variety of roles, served on several co-op boards, was a Buyer & Merchandiser for the former DANCe co-op warehouse, served on the executive committee of the Twin Cities Natural Food Co-ops Grocers Association, was liaison to the Midwest Co-op Grocers Association, and helped open the Just Food Co-op in Northfield, MN as their first general manager. He has written for the Cooperative Grocer magazine, written and edited training manuals, and presented at workshops and conferences.
Stuart holds a Lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager accreditation from the Institute for Supply Management where he was also recognized as top Membership Committee Chair of the region. In 2004 he was the recipient of the Howard Bowers award for Innovation and Achievement.
Jacqueline Hannah, Food Co-op Development Specialist
Jacqueline served as the general manager of Common Ground Food Co-op (CGFC) in Urbana, IL from Fall 2006 through Spring 2015. There she combined her passion for business, management, and sustainable food with her belief that businesses should exist to enrich the communities in which they exist. During her time with CGFC she led the co-op through two expansions, the founding of their Food For All economic access program, and being the fastest growing retail food co-op in the nation from 2008-2013.
Jacqueline joined Food Co-op Initiative in March of 2015 so she can fully commit herself to new food co-op development. Before joining CGFC, Jacqueline spent over 25 years in retail management for independent local businesses.
In 2010 Jacqueline was named one of the "40 Under 40" business people of excellence by Central Illinois Business Magazine, and in 2011 she was awarded the Innovation Award for Economic Development Impact for her work with Common Ground Food Co-op. She received the Cooperative Service Award at the 2013 Crossroads Cooperative Summit.
Mary Stennes Wilbourn, Outreach and Operations Coordinator
Mary manages our data, website, and social media, and will likely be the first person people speak to when they contact Food Co-op Initiative.
Mary brings extensive experience in nonprofit and higher education office management, communication, and advocacy. She spent four years as communications and operations manager for a social justice organization in Minnesota, followed by several years as an office management consultant and free-lance writer.
Prior to that, Mary spent ten years in the career center of a busy midwestern university, managing the office and the on-campus employment program. She coauthored a job search handbook for college grads, and established one of the first online job databases in the country.
